Summer in the Pocono Mountains is always filled with beautiful scenery, warm golden light, exciting events, and countless opportunities to create meaningful memories. Every season brings something new to Studio R Photography, but summer has a special kind of energy. It is a time for outdoor adventures, family gatherings, celebrations, and trying new creative ideas.

As I look ahead to the season, I created a summer bucket list filled with photography goals, special moments, and experiences I hope to capture.

Photograph More Families Visiting the Poconos

The Pocono Mountains are a popular summer destination for families looking to relax, reconnect, and enjoy time together. One of my biggest goals is to photograph more families who are visiting the area for vacations, reunions, birthdays, and weekend getaways.

A vacation photo session is a beautiful way to document more than just the location. It captures the people who made the trip special. Whether the session takes place near a lake, in an open field, at a vacation rental, or among the mountain scenery, these photographs become lasting reminders of time spent together.

Capture a Large Multi-Generational Family Session

Large family sessions are always full of laughter, personality, and meaningful connections. This summer, I would love to photograph more multi-generational families, including grandparents, parents, children, siblings, cousins, and everyone in between.

These sessions allow us to create the traditional full-family portrait while also capturing smaller family units, siblings, couples, grandparents with grandchildren, and candid moments. They are especially meaningful because they document relationships that families can treasure for generations.

Create More Magic at the Lavender Farm

Photographing at Paradise Lavender Farm is always one of the highlights of the season. The rows of lavender, rustic scenery, and soft evening light create a peaceful and romantic backdrop for family, maternity, couples, senior, and milestone portraits.

My summer bucket list would not be complete without creating more lavender-filled memories. I hope to capture joyful children running between the rows, quiet family moments, romantic couples, and plenty of beautiful golden-hour portraits.

Photograph a Summer Proposal

There is something incredibly exciting about photographing a surprise proposal. The planning, anticipation, emotion, and celebration all come together in one unforgettable moment.

This summer, I would love to help plan and photograph a proposal somewhere beautiful in the Poconos. A mountain overlook, lakeside setting, peaceful park, or private vacation property could all provide the perfect backdrop for someone to ask one of life’s biggest questions.

Capture More Pets and Their People

Pets are an important part of the family, and they deserve to be included in summer memories too. I would love to photograph more dogs enjoying the outdoors with their favorite people.

These sessions can include playful moments, quiet cuddles, walking along a trail, sitting together in a field, or simply capturing the personality that makes each pet special. Perfect behavior is never required. Some of the best photographs come from the unpredictable and funny moments.

Photograph a Lakeside Family Session

A summer evening beside the water is hard to beat. One of my goals is to photograph more families and couples at locations such as Lake Wallenpaupack and other beautiful Pocono lakes.

The water, docks, trees, mountain scenery, and glowing sunset can create a relaxed vacation feeling. Lakeside sessions are perfect for families staying nearby, couples celebrating an anniversary, or anyone who wants portraits that truly reflect summer in the Poconos.

Create a Fun Summer-Themed Studio Session

Outdoor sessions may be popular during the summer, but there is still plenty of creativity happening inside the Studio R Photography studio.

I would love to design a colorful summer-themed setup featuring bright details, seasonal props, and a playful atmosphere. Ideas could include lemonade stands, summer birthdays, beach-inspired portraits, patriotic sessions, or something completely unexpected.

The studio is also a wonderful option for anyone who wants to avoid heat, humidity, rain, or unpredictable summer weather.

Photograph More Senior Portraits

Summer is one of the best times for senior portraits. Students have more flexibility in their schedules, nature is full and colorful, and there is plenty of time to complete the session before the school year becomes busy.

This summer, I hope to photograph seniors in locations that reflect their personalities and interests. Sessions can include sports, musical instruments, dance, vehicles, pets, hobbies, future careers, or favorite places.

Senior portraits should feel personal. They should celebrate who the student is now and the exciting future ahead.

Capture a Beautiful Summer Wedding

Summer weddings are filled with colorful flowers, outdoor ceremonies, warm evenings, and joyful celebrations. Every wedding has its own story, traditions, and personal details.

I look forward to photographing emotional ceremonies, quiet moments between couples, family reactions, candid laughter, beautiful details, and everything that makes each wedding unique. Whether it is a large celebration, backyard wedding, courthouse ceremony, or intimate micro-wedding, every couple deserves to have their day documented with care.

Try a New Creative Photography Idea

Creativity has always been an important part of Studio R Photography. This summer, I want to challenge myself to try something new.

That could mean experimenting with a new location, designing a unique studio set, creating a themed portrait, exploring a different editing technique, using dramatic light, or planning a session inspired by a movie, song, season, or story.

Some of my favorite photographs have come from trying an idea simply to see what could happen.

Spend More Time Photographing for Myself

Running a photography business means that most of my time behind the camera is focused on clients, events, deadlines, and galleries. This summer, I also want to make time to photograph simply because I enjoy it.

The Pocono Mountains offer endless inspiration, including wildlife, landscapes, flowers, waterfalls, local events, small towns, and changing summer skies. Personal photography helps me slow down, notice the details, and reconnect with the creativity that started this journey.

Make More Memories Along the Way

The final item on my summer bucket list is the most important: enjoy the season and appreciate every moment.

Photography is about more than creating beautiful images. It is about meeting new people, watching families grow, celebrating milestones, visiting meaningful places, and preserving moments that might otherwise pass too quickly.

I am excited to see what this summer brings to Studio R Photography. There will be family sessions, pets, celebrations, weddings, outdoor adventures, studio creativity, and plenty of unexpected moments along the way.

Maybe one of your summer memories will become part of the Studio R Photography bucket list too.
